Live Game Companion

While War Thunder is running on this computer, the game opens a private feed on your machine. This page reads that feed in the browser — indicators, map objects, mission state. Nothing is sent to WT Charts servers.

Raw loopback dump from the game client on this PC (127.0.0.1:8111). Browser talks to the game directly — we never see the traffic.

Launch War Thunder on this machine, then poll. Hangar covers some fields; battle is richer.

How to use this tool

Gaijin's game client hosts a tiny HTTP service only on your PC (loopback). For a visual map overlay use the Live Map Overlay tool; this page is the raw JSON companion.

Raw telemetry dump from your War Thunder client’s localhost:8111 feed — indicators, state, map info, map objects, and mission JSON. For a visual map, use the Map Tool.

  • Same PC as the game client — not a phone, not a second computer.
  • Enter a battle for the richest map-object feed.
  • 1 Hz live refresh is enough.

What the live game companion is for

Gaijin’s client exposes a private HTTP service on your PC while the game runs. This page polls that feed for debugging, overlay experiments, and curiosity. It is not a global API, not a leaderboard, and not something WT Charts can see from the internet.

Use Poll once or 1 Hz live refresh. Enter a battle for richer map_obj data. Prefer the Map Tool when you want map.img drawn on a canvas instead of JSON panels.

Privacy and browser limits

Traffic stays on your machine. HTTPS sites may need explicit permission to reach local HTTP services. If every endpoint errors, confirm the game is running on the same PC and that the browser is not blocking mixed content.

Frequently asked questions

Map Tool vs Companion?
Map Tool draws map.img and objects. Companion shows raw JSON for all endpoints. Same data source.
Can I use this on my phone?
Not against your PC’s 8111 port unless you build your own tunnel — and that is outside this page’s scope.

Limitations

  • • Not a global API and not a leaderboard — only your current session.
  • • Browser security may block HTTPS page → local game feed without permission.
